Product Overview
Potassium Sulfate (K2SO4) is a high-purity, water-soluble inorganic salt widely recognized as a superior potassium fertilizer in modern agriculture. With a typical potassium content (as K2O) of 50%-52% and a sulfur content of approximately 18%, it delivers essential nutrients crucial for plant growth and yield enhancement. The agricultural-grade product appears as light yellow crystals or granules, characterized by excellent physical properties such as low hygroscopicity, minimal caking, and easy application.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-Quality Potassium Source: Provides readily available potassium (K2O ≥ 50% for granular, ≥ 52% for powder) vital for enzyme activation, photosynthesis, and overall plant vigor.
- Chloride-Free & Low Salt Index: Ideal for chloride-sensitive crops like tobacco, grapes, potatoes, tomatoes, citrus, and berries, preventing quality deterioration and burning.
- Dual Nutrient Supply: Supplies both potassium and sulfur, addressing deficiencies and supporting protein synthesis and oil formation in crops like cruciferous vegetables.
- Excellent Physical Properties: Non-hygroscopic, free-flowing granules ensure easy handling, storage, and precise application through various equipment.
- Chemically Neutral, Physiologically Acidic: Suitable for a wide range of soils (except waterlogged conditions) and helps correct soil pH in alkaline environments when used over time.
- Versatile Raw Material: Serves as a key component in manufacturing high-quality, chloride-free NPK compound fertilizers.
Primary Applications
Specially recommended for fertigation, foliar feeding, and base application for:
- High-Value Cash Crops: Tobacco, grapes, sugar beet, tea plants, potatoes, flax, vegetables (especially cruciferous), and fruit trees.
- Chloride-Sensitive Crops: Where chloride from fertilizers like KCl (MOP) is detrimental to yield and quality.
- Sulfur-Deficient Soils: Effectively corrects sulfur deficiency, improving crop quality and stress tolerance.
Packaging: Available in 25 kg, 50 kg, 1000 kg, 1250 kg bags, or customized OEM color bags.
Usage Guidance & Precautions
- Acidic Soils: Prolonged use may increase soil acidity. Combine with farmyard manure, lime, or alkaline phosphate fertilizers to mitigate acidity and improve soil health.
- Calcareous/Flooded Soils: In calcareous soils, sulfate may combine with calcium to form gypsum, potentially leading to hardening. In poorly drained or flooded soils, sulfate reduction to hydrogen sulfide can occur. Ensure proper field drainage and combine with organic matter.
- Crop Suitability: This fertilizer is most cost-effective and beneficial for chloride-sensitive, sulfur-loving economic crops. Its higher value justifies focused application on these crops.
- General Application: Can be used as base fertilizer, top dressing, or in foliar sprays (soluble grade). Always consider soil tests and crop requirements.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place away from moisture and incompatible materials.
