Gibberellic Acid (GA3) is a high-efficiency broad-spectrum plant growth regulator, which can promote crop growth and development, mature earlier, improve quality and yield. It can quickly break the dormancy of organs of seeds, tubers and bulbs, promote germination, reduce the shedding of buds, flowers, bells, and fruits, improve fruit setting rate or form seedless fruits. It can also change male and female flower ratio, influence flowering time.

Gibberellic Acid have the function of promoting stem elongation, inducing long-day plants to bolt and flower under short-day conditions, breaking dormancy, promoting fruit setting and parthenocarpy, and accelerating cell division and differentiation. The most significant effect of GA3 is to promote tissue growth, increase plant height significantly, and have a particularly obvious elongation effect on some genetic dwarf plants. Gibberellic Acid can replace red light to stimulate the germination of dormant seeds (green beans, lettuce, etc.); it can induce the synthesis of α-amylase and hydrolyze starch into sugar. In low temperature and weak light, it can break the dormancy of forage grass; in summer, it can promote the growth of sugarcane under drought or low temperature; in early spring, under low temperature, it can promote early germination and rapid emergence of peas and kidney beans. In agriculture, GA3 is commonly used to increase the yield of seedless grapes, break potato dormancy, and is used in hybrid rice seed production to promote head sprouting and increase hybrid seed yield.

Regulate growth and promote fruit development :

Overcoming Dormancy: Treatment of seeds/tubers before sowing with Gibberellic acid is effective in overcoming dormancy and causing rapid germination of seed.
Premature Flowering: Flowering may be induced by direct application of Gibberellic acid to young plants.  This action is not sustained and treatment may have to be repeated.
Increased In Fruit Set: When there is a difficulty with fruit set, Gibberellic acid may be effective.  The resulting fruit may be partially or entirely seedless.
Hybridizing: Pollination within self-incompatible clones and between closely related species may some times be forced by the application of Gibberellic acid and cytokinin to the blooms at the time of hand pollination.
Increased Growth: Gibberellic acid applied near the terminal bud of trees may increase the rate of growth by stimulating more or less constant growth during the season.
Frost Protection: Spraying fruit trees at full-blossom or when the blossoms begin to wither can offset the detrimental effects of frost.

Promote flower bud differentiation :
In semi accelerated cultivation of strawberries, spraying 8-10mg/L gibberellic acid solution during the early growth stage can make the first inflorescence bloom early; In the greenhouse assisted cultivation of strawberries, after 3 days of insulation in the greenhouse (when more than 30% of the flower buds appear), spray the gibberellic acid solution 1-2 times, spray the first time before the two leaves have unfolded, and spray the second time as appropriate during the budding stage.
