Triacontanol is a long-chain primary alcohol composed of 30 carbon atoms. In industrial production, it is mainly extracted from beeswax, bran wax and sucrose wax, so it can be regarded as a natural plant growth regulator. It is harmless, has no side effects, and has no pollution to the environment. It can effectively promote the synthesis of protein in the presence or absence of light. Therefore, in addition to conventional field crops in agricultural production, it is often used for the cultivation of fungi.

When absorbed by crops, Triacontanol can increase the activity of polyphenol oxidase in plants, and then play a role in affecting plant growth, differentiation and development. For specific performance, it promotes rooting and germination of seeds or crops, promote the growth of crop stems and leaves; increase the content of chlorophyll, promote photosynthesis, increase the dry matter accumulation of crops, and improve the yield and quality of agricultural products.

Promote the differentiation of flower buds of fruit trees, melons, vegetables and other crops, increase the effective tillering of wheat, rice and other crops, preserve flowers and fruits, improve fruit setting and seed setting rates, and increase crop yields; promote crop absorption of mineral elements, increase crop protein and sugar accumulation; improve the quality of agricultural products; at the same time, it has the functions of promoting maturity, enhancing crop resistance to cold, drought, and virus disease.

At present, Triacontanol is mainly registered in wheat, peanuts, tomatoes, peppers, citrus trees, oyster mushrooms, tobacco and other crops, but in actual applications, it is far beyond this range and widely used in grain and oil crops, vegetable crops, fruit crops, economic crops, edible fungus crops, flowers and green plants and aquatic crops. It have the effect of increasing production greatly and maturing early.

Plants respond very quickly to triacontanol. According to related experiments, after treatment with triacontanol, the increase in dry weight of corn seedlings can be measured within 10 minutes; the increase in content of reducing sugars and free amino acids can be observed in rice seedlings after 4 minutes. The effect on leaf chlorophyll content was greater than spraying brassinolide, but the time to maintain a higher chlorophyll level was shorter than that of brassinolide.

In short, it shows that triacontanol foliar spray has an immediate effect on the promotion of chlorophyll content, while the promotion effect of brassinolide is relatively gentle, but the effect is long-lasting, which is more beneficial to delaying leaf senescence.
